Are you passionate about pets?

Love building relationships, opening new doors, and seeing the impact of your work directly at store level? Join Hagen Group as a Territory Sales Representative and take ownership of growing our business across Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, and Southern Utah.

You’ll be the face of Hagen in your territory, building strong relationships with independent pet retailers, distributor partners, and other customers while expanding the presence of some of the pet industry’s most recognized brands.

Why Join Hagen Group:

Hagen Group is a trusted, family-run business with over 70 years of experience, founded in 1955 in Montreal. With U.S. operations headquartered in Mansfield, Massachusetts, and a global presence, we’re known for our commitment to innovation, quality, and improving the lives of pets and the people who love them.

This is an opportunity to take real ownership of your territory while representing a broad portfolio of trusted brands, including Catit, Fluval, Exo Terra, Marina, Hari, BIONIC, and more.

How You’ll Be Contributing:

  • Own your territory sales plan and deliver against revenue, growth, distribution, new account, and promotional goals.
  • Prospect for and open new independent pet retail accounts while growing relationships with existing customers.
  • Build strong relationships with store owners, buyers, managers, associates, and distributor partners.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Hagen brands, product assortments, and points of distribution within your territory.
  • Present Hagen products and solutions in a way that clearly communicates their value to retailers and consumers.
  • Execute new product launches, promotions, displays, planograms, signage, and other in-store initiatives.
  • Improve product availability, shelf presence, pricing accuracy, merchandising, and overall brand presentation.
  • Educate and train retail associates on our products, categories, and consumer recommendations.
  • Partner with distributor representatives on joint calls, retailer opportunities, trade shows, and local market activities.
  • Monitor competitive activity, retailer feedback, and emerging opportunities and share insights with Sales leadership.
  • Use sales data, account history, and market observations to prioritize opportunities and build effective action plans.
  • Maintain accurate customer, activity, opportunity, and pipeline information in Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Operations, and distributor partners to solve customer needs and deliver a strong experience.
  • Manage samples, displays, selling materials, travel, and company expenses responsibly and in line with company policies.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 2+ years of experience in field sales, territory management, account management, or a similar customer-facing role.
  • A proven ability to prospect, build relationships, influence purchasing decisions, and close new business.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Confidence working independently and managing a large geographic territory.
  • Comfort using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, sales reporting, and basic business analytics.
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the territory.
  • The ability to work effectively from a home-based environment while staying connected and accountable to the broader team.
  • Experience in the pet industry, consumer packaged goods, specialty retail, or distribution is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of independent pet retail and distributor-based selling is a plus.
  • A genuine interest in pets, pet care, and helping independent retailers grow their businesses.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Animal Science, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

What Success Looks Like:

You become a trusted partner to customers throughout your territory. You consistently create new business, expand productive distribution, strengthen Hagen’s presence at store level, and follow through on commitments.

You understand your market, know where the opportunities are, and take ownership of turning those opportunities into sustainable growth.

Work Environment & Travel:

This is a field-based role requiring frequent driving and regular travel throughout the assigned territory, including periodic overnight travel. The position also involves working in retail stores, distribution facilities, trade shows, and a home-office environment.

You must be comfortable handling product samples, displays, and materials weighing up to 40 lbs and performing routine merchandising activities. Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required for customer needs, trade shows, events, or travel.

Equal Opportunity:
